Magellan, Freshly Signed To In

For Immediate Release:

Progressive Rock Specialists MAGELLAN Sign To InsideOut Music America

New Studio Effort Impossible Figures Scheduled For Springtime Release

Sacramento-based progressive rock trio MAGELLAN have announced a multi-album signing to InsideOut Music America. The band, featuring Trent Gardner (vocals, keyboards), and his brother Wayne Gardner (guitars and bass), developed a style of music that nods to the classic progressive rock era of the 70s while experimenting with cutting edge writing techniques, giving their sound a modern and (at times) a futuristic connotation. Magellan's first release for InsideOut will be entitled 'Impossible Figures' and released this spring!

Band leader Trent Gardner comments on the door that has been opened with this development: "My new signing with InsideOut reflects an important move for my future and the likelihood of me ever reaching my own goals for both personal achievement and musical fulfillment. Because I am a musician that has patiently worked hard for a very long time, finding such an opportunity to work with a company that respects their artists on such a profound level was an enormous blessing for me. InsideOut is not tring to do 'stereotype progressive rock'...but instead, they are simply promoting good music!"

Over the years, Trent and Magellan have released 4 albums as a band and worked with numerous notable musicians, including Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson, Kansas' Steve Walsh & Kerry Livgren, journeyman Tony Levin, and Dream Theater members James Labrie & John Myung. The experiences culminate in Magellan's ever-progressing artform.

The upcoming release of Impossible Figures marks a turning point in the band's career, and yet brings their sonic ingenuity to a new plateau. Says Trent, The album is a fresh start for Magellan! I haven't felt this good about my music since 1991. I hope the music will truly 'speak for itself'.

Indeed it shall. With an aggressive new label behind them, and a bold new album in the wings, Magellan is a band honestly looking to the future.

What are you 12 years old, Pepper?

tzw - 2/28/2003 2:59:20 PM
Jesus, Pepper, lighten up!

PepperShays - 2/28/2003 12:47:51 PM
I agree, we need more Cowbell. Cowbells rule. Jeezus Azchick, you are a fucking idiot.

i_love_taz - 2/25/2003 6:55:44 AM
Hooray! More Magellan for me please...it seems most folks here aren't interested. Now here's a genre of rock that doesn't need fireworks of any kind, except for what pours out of the musicians (and a good light show). Long live DT, Pain Of Salvation, Yes, Gordian Knot and all the other prog greats!!

Sixxisgod - 2/20/2003 10:13:00 PM
Lol.

azchick - 2/20/2003 2:40:41 PM
bad14u: No.

Sixxisgod - 2/19/2003 1:48:43 PM
Yeah, yeah it really does.

bad14u - 2/19/2003 10:05:41 AM

azchick - 2/18/2003 1:16:13 PM
kinda makes you feel warm & fuzzy don't it?

Sixxisgod - 2/18/2003 12:42:34 PM
I'm glad we could make them feel better.

azchick - 2/17/2003 11:03:14 PM
See, a little cowbell makes everyone happy ;)!!

Orion442 - 2/16/2003 11:51:37 AM
Funny you should mention that Mr. Hitler, they ARE registered sex offenders! Which is why their "world tour" will only be within 50 miles of their home.

uncle_adolf - 2/16/2003 4:25:39 AM
that has got to be the oddest looking band photo I have ever seen...both of those guys look live registered sex offenders...

the_looney - 2/14/2003 10:18:22 AM
That SNL skit is one of the best they've ever done. I think of it every time I hear a cowbell. As for this band, I might have to download a song or two and see if they are any good. Now, I'm off to the music store to buy a cowbell, gotta have it if you wanna play rock n roll. Anyway.........

SaintBastard - 2/14/2003 9:16:16 AM
Another funny thing about that SNL skit is that Walken's name in the skit is Bruce Dickenson! LOL
