TEEZE
Full Blast!

2015 TNA Records

Full Blast! was recorded live last year during the Turkey Baster Beer Bash at Austin’s Fuel Room in Libertyville, Illinois while TEEZE warmed up the crowd for JACKYL. This live album captures TEEZE in all their glory as they ignite the audience with numerous originals and a few covers.

Not to be confused with ‘80s Pennsylvanian glam rockers TEEZE (who later became ROUGHHOUSE), this TEEZE is from the Chicago area and have a melodic sound influenced by ‘80s hard rock bands such as LA GUNS, WARRANT, QUIET RIOT, DANGER DANGER and ENUFF Z’NUFF. In fact, TEEZE have shared the stage with all those bands, as well as BANG TANGO, ACE FREHLEY, SLAUGHTER and fellow Chicagoans D’MOLLS. The band consists of Alex Tyler (bass, lead vocals), P.J. Alvarez (drums), and guitarists Martin Contreras and Bill Bhuller.

Opener “Last City To Go” gets things off to a rollicking start, while “Superstar” brings in some swagger and groove. “Drug” is a faster track that features some nice riffing and harmony vocals. CINDERELLA’s Jeff Labar contributed guitar to the original recording of “Heaven’s A Step Away”, one of the strongest of TEEZE’s originals found here. “Lion Tamer” is a decent track while “Revenge” is another of the strongest tracks on the album. Signature song “Teeze Teeze Teeze” follows and keeps the performance moving along. “Throw A Dog A Bone” and “Backroads” are solid tracks as well, suitable for singing along. No ballads are to be found on Full Blast!, just balls out, up-tempo good time rock ‘n’ roll.

One of the best ways for an opening band to win over a crowd that did not necessarily come to see them is to do a killer cover. Any questions of TEEZE’s influences are answered with the covers of the KISS classic “Calling Dr. Love” (featuring lead vocals by Alvarez) and AC/DC’s “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”. These two songs will definitely sway fans to their way of thinking. Final track “Tear It Down” is a newer song and showcases the band’s melodic vocal abilities and guitar riffs. Full Blast! has a total of 13 songs lasting around an hour.

TEEZE are a fantastic party band; one that can definitely keep you rocking out during their songs and laughing between them. Full Blast! is a testament to their melodic vocal skill and tight live performances and is worth checking out if you are a fan of KISS, AC/DC, LA GUNS, DOKKEN and QUIET RIOT.
