Sylvain Sylvain Gets All Dolled Up For U.S. Tour

Former New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain will hit the road this for his first national tour in over two years. Backed by a whip crackin’ band out of Atlanta, where Syl resides these days, Sylvain will by joined by drummer Larry Glover, bassist Corriveaux, and second guitarist Oli "Le" Baron. Sylvain will play songs from his days in the Dolls, highlights from his solo material, choice covers, and songs from his 1999 album Sleep Baby Doll.
Along with guitarist Johnny Thunders, frontman David Johanson (a.k.a. Buster Poindexter), bassist Arthur Kane and drummer Jerry Nolan (who replaced deceased skinsman Billy Murcia), Syl made up the New York Dolls, the notorious proto-punk glam band that kicked started the whole New York underground scene in the early ‘70s, serving as inspiration for the Ramones, Television, The Dictators and the Dead Boys. After two records on Mercury they split up and Sylvain formed the Criminals before going solo. Later he teamed up with Thunders in an incarnation of his band that included both Nolan and Kane at various times. After producing the debut album by Hollywood glam punks Motorcycle Boy and guesting on a Dramarama record in the early ‘90s, Sylvain returned with Sleep Baby Doll and received much critical acclaim. The last tour he played was to support Sleep Baby Doll with The Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, who served as both the backing band and support act.
