Slayer & Judas Priest Off-fest

I am in line to go into the venue at 7:30. It starts to rain and I can hear inside the venue some one with a microphone scream “GOD HATES US ALL!” I think to myself, no way! This has to be footage from a past show. Slayer can’t be playing this early, right? Wrong! They started playing and I could hear them play “Disciple” while I was still in line. So I politely pushed my way to the front of the line and finally got in. My seat was in section 301 but that just wouldn’t do for me. So as Slayer was belting out “War Ensemble,” Mandatory Suicide” and “Hallowed Point,” I slowly made my way to the 100/200 section of the venue. I find a good spot that I didn’t pay for but earned nonetheless and watch the rest of the show there.

The audience still looked half asleep and that was totally unacceptable for me. So I start going crazy! Head banging like a mental patient and getting people to join me. Finally we get some people going wild while Slayer plays “Stain Of Mind,” “Bloodline” and “Dead Skin Mask.” Myself and the people around me scare the hell out of the Judas Priest fans as we go completely insane for the rest of Slayer’s set which included “Seasons in the Abyss,” “Postmortem,” “Jesus Saves,” “Raining Blood,” “South of Heaven” and then they ended with “Angel Of Death.” Slayer put on a good set as always and Lombardo threw his sticks into the crowd.

There was a short break till Judas Priest hit the stage so I made my way back up to the 300/400 section. When I got up there I was surprised to find some people still half dead. It felt like a morgue but that was soon about to change.

I heard the music, I saw Halford coming down from the sky and I saw something that I thought I would never see! JUDAS PRIEST WITH HALFORD! Now the crowd wakes! I go crazy! I can’t keep still! I run all around the 400/300 section getting everyone to scream and let loose. Now people are alive and get into the show. I was surprised to find that the best head bangers seemed to be females. Right on!

The guitar work was amazing and Halford’s screams where absolutely fantastic to hear. They played for about an hour and a half and some of the songs that they played where “The Ripper,” “Victim of Changes,” “Painkiller,” “Turbo Lover” and “Breaking The LAAAWWWW!”

This was a spectacular concert! I had a lot of fun at this show! The last time Judas Priest played Toronto, they broke up right after. I hope they are doing okay.
