Well, where do I start? It isn’t the same without Dave -- Ellefson that is -- and although the show was pretty good, it wasn’t Megadeth to me… and the hired guns that played, well, obviously they are good enough to lip synch-- I mean play covers, but again… but that is not a review, just my pissing and moaning.

Dave doesn’t appear to have suffered any injury to me either as his guitar playing was, as always, impeccable. So I wonder… But they played all the hits, and then some. Most of the set covered the older, harder songs, too… Good to hear, but again my honest opinion, it’s the Dave Mustaine show coming soon to you. Honestly, I thought his guitar was overwhelmingly louder when he played -- sounded great -- just louder than the rest of the band and there was no real bass. The drum sound was all kick… and the other geet, like I said when Dave wasn’t playing, you could hear him and he covered the solos he was allowed to play… no Al Pitrelli, let alone Marty Freidman… but… again a pretty good show. He kept raising his arms in victory… getting the crowd fired up on him… ego? Always had one but…

Anyway… great show, go check it out if only this, and I honestly mean it, he played the new stuff and outside of the songs on the Risk album that for some reason the radio played, ‘cause there are good songs on that album, just not the ones they chose to promote. Dave hasn’t sold out the music… he writes killer lyrics, makes killer riffs, and plays a killer geetar… so although there isn’t a whole lot of good stuff coming out these days, the new album rocks, the music is there. Pick it up if you haven’t and take in the show when it comes to town…

And by the way, Exodus opened with that Steeve dude singing -- now although he is a fill in and you can make an argument, won’t win but you can make it -- Exodus kicked some serious ass as well, definitely haven’t lost an edge and their new one kicks too.

So for all who think there isn’t anything worth listening to today that is not old, both of these outfits have new discs out and they rock… Turn off the radio, or take a break from the ‘nac and check out and support these bands that are putting out some bad tunes… you’re not a child anymore, it won’t come to you bitching on readers rants… go get it! And for those who want to know the set list, as I always say, go to the show! MUYA!
