The late Joey Jordison founded MURDERDOLLS as a side project while on break from SLIPKNOT back in 2001. While versions of the band existed prior to that, it was with the recruitment of former FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 19 frontman WEDNESDAY 13 that the project was taken to the next level.

MURDERDOLLS released their debut album Beyond The Valley of The Murderdolls in 2002. It was preceded by an EP entitled Right To Remain Violent. The first album was mainly reworked material from WEDNESDAY 13's prior venture.

Women And Children Last was released in 2010 and is considered by Jordison and WEDNESDAY 13 to be the first MURDERDOLLS album, since it was the first in which they both contributed to all the writing and the production was far superior to its predecessor.

MURDERDOLLS didn't tour much due to Jordisons' commitments with SLIPKNOT and eventually ROB ZOMBIE. WEDNESDAY 13 was also enjoying a growing solo career, kicking off with his debut Transylvania 90210: Song of Death, Dying, And The Dead in 2005, and still going strong today with the release of his 9th studio album Horrifier in 2022.

In honor of the MURDERDOLLS' 21st anniversary, frontman WEDNESDAY 13 and fellow alumni are set to kick off the WEDNESDAY 13 Performs MURDERDOLLS Tour on October 20, 2023 at the SOLD OUT Whisky in Los Angeles, California. I had the chance to catch up with WEDNESDAY 13 ahead of rehearsals for this 38 date trek which is sure to expand as the months go on.

Together we go in-depth on what to expect from the tour, how impactful the music and the band's image has become with only a handful of albums and live performances, how he originally joined the band, why Jordison was originally opposed to the bands adopted red and black color coding, whether any music was produced after their 2012 break-up, a note on his upcoming 10th studio album, a Jordison inspired track that will appear on it, and much, much more.
