As the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted into cheers, the stage came alive with the electrifying energy of THE WORD ALIVE, MEMPHIS MAY FIRE, and ASKING ALEXANDRIA on their "All My Friends - North American Tour". This exhilarating night unfolded as the second show of the tour at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas. Unfortunately, due to an accident on the freeway on my way in to the show I missed the opening act NERV.

THE WORD ALIVE kicked off the evening with an explosive set, igniting the stage with their signature blend of metalcore and post-hardcore sound. Opening with the haunting melodies of "2012", they seamlessly transitioned into "Nocturnal Future", setting the tone for an exhilarating performance. The crowd roared as they delved into hits like "Play the Victim" and "Hate Me", each song pulsating with energy. With a dynamic stage presence and infectious enthusiasm, THE WORD ALIVE left a lasting impression with their setlist, including crowd favorites like "Life Cycles" and "One of Us".

Next up, MEMPHIS MAY FIRE took the stage by storm, delivering a powerful performance that captivated the audience from start to finish.

As they launched into "Make Believe", the crowd surged with energy. However, amidst the frenzy, I found myself unexpectedly hit in the head with a broken drumstick, a momentary shock amidst the excitement. A dedicated fan on the barricade saw me drop to the ground to pick it up and shouted, "HEY!! PHOTOGRAPHER!! CAN I PLEASE HAVE THAT DRUMSTICK?!" to which I promptly ran over and handed it to him on the condition I could take his photo with it. He happily agreed, and we were both swept up once again by the band's electrifying presence and the captivating melodies of "Bleed Me Dry" and "The Old Me". During "The Old Me" guitar player Kellen McGregor threw his guitar pick to the youngest barricade-goer in the crowd, helping me capture a perfect moment for a young family. Each song resonated with the crowd, evoking a range of emotions and igniting a sense of unity. As the band unleashed hits like "Miles Away" and "No Ordinary Love", the audience sang along in unison, creating an atmosphere of solidarity that transcended the brief interruption. With their electrifying stage presence and heartfelt lyrics, MEMPHIS MAY FIRE left an indelible mark on the night, culminating with the explosive finale of "Blood & Water".

Closing out the night with an unforgettable performance, ASKING ALEXANDRIA took the stage with an unmatched intensity and fervor. Launching into "Closure", they set the tone for a high-energy set filled with adrenaline-pumping anthems and infectious hooks. From the infectious groove of "Alone Again" to the rebellious spirit of "Into The Fire", each song ignited a frenzy of movement and emotion in the crowd. As they belted out hits like "The Violence" and "To The Stage", the audience was swept away by the sheer power and passion of the music. Ending on a high note with "Alone In a Room", ASKING ALEXANDRIA left the crowd exhilarated and craving more. Formed in 2008 in York, North Yorkshire, they gained prominence in the metalcore scene with their debut album Stand Up And Scream in 2009, featuring tracks like "The Final Episode (Let's Change The Channel)" and "Not The American Average". Known for their energetic live performances and dynamic stage presence, the band quickly garnered a dedicated fan base.
