Polish Heavy Metal act CRYSTAL VIPER released their 9th studio album The Silver Key on June 24, 2024 through Listenable Records. It is a companion album (not a sequel) to their 2021 release The Cult. Both albums' lyrical content was inspired by the works of noted New England horror and fantasy author H.P. Lovecraft. On the music end of things, CRYSTAL VIPER's sound is akin to the notable '80s Heavy Metal acts they grew up listening to.

I had the chance to catch up with front woman Marta Gabriel prior to the album's release to find out more about The Silver Key. Gabriel also discusses her admiration for the works of H.P. Lovecraft, the stories behind the singles, cover artwork by Guatemalan artist Mario Lopez, working with producer (and husband) Bart Gabriel, live performance plans, festivals vs. club shows, her 2021 solo covers album Metal Queens, her upcoming all-originals (different genre) solo album, the impact of Jutta Weinhold's (ZED YAGO, VELVET VIPER) music, and much, much more.
