Metallica Reveal New Album Title and Cover Art By Newsferatu, Writer Tuesday, June 17, 2008 @ 6:16 AM
Set for a September release on Warner Bros., Metallica's Death Magnetic is their first album since 2003's St. Anger and their first with bassist Robert Trujillo, who joined in February of that year.
Death Magnetic is "a stunning, overdue return to the shock and rush of the band's speed-metal monuments, 1984's Ride The Lightning and 1986's Master Of Puppets," according to Rolling Stone.
Some reports indicate the album will be preceded by an eight-minute single which is being described as "a tour de force that features some of their fastest playing ever." The record is produced by Rick Rubin.
