Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has slammed major labels, as opposed to fans, for the popularity of file sharing on the Internet.
In an article in Kerrang! magazine Taylor said, "Why would you blame (people who download music)? Half the fucking albums that are out there are shit. I don’t download, but at the same time, I don’t buy new music ’cause it all sucks. Okay, there’s a handful of bands that I buy, but other than that, I just buy old shit because old shit is good."
"I think it’s the quality of the product. If record companies would stop giving any fucking mook (idiot) on the street with a fringe a record deal or their own record label, maybe you would sell more fucking albums, dipshits."
 Guitarist Marty Friedman is out with a new album. Exhibit A - Live in Europe is, according to Friedman's press agent, "an album that will change all preconceptions about live performance albums. It is an emotionally fueled work of genius, mixed with brilliant guitar solo mastery that has become Marty Friedman’s signature." Exhibit A - Live in Europe features Marty Friedman (lead guitar), Ron Jarzombeck (guitar), Chris Catero (bass), and Jeremy Colson (drums).

The Devil's Slingshot is a triple-threat power trio comprised of three legendary musicians: Tony MacAlpine (guitar, keys), Billy Sheehan (bass), and Virgil Donati (drums). The band is out with it's debut album, called Clinophobia. According to the band's press release, "This dynamic synergy of players produces melodies that will invade your mind and soul.
