All-Star HEAR N' AID Project To Be Reissued On CD, DVD By Tokemaster General, Contributor Wednesday, November 2, 2011 @ 10:58 AM
When famine relief was a top-priority in the '80s events like Live Aid and charity singles like 'Do They Know It's Christmas' and 'We Are the World' topped the charts. But the metal world gathered around RONNIE JAMES DIO and his HEAR N' AID project which featured members of DIO, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, QUIET RIOT, DOKKEN, MÖTLEY CRÜE, TWISTED SISTER, QUEENSRŸCHE, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, VANILLA FUDGE, Y&T, ROUGH CUTT, GIUFFRIA, JOURNEY, W.A.S.P., TED NUGENT and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN.
The result was 'Stars', a seven-minute-plus track that boasted the talents of the aforementioned, with all proceeds going to charity.
 Ronnie James Dio's widow Wendy Dio tells Rolling Stone that 'Stars will be re-issued on CD and DVD. "I have loads of outtakes for the video," she says.
